About the role

The Senior Investment Consultant at Hightower is a field-facing professional who partners directly with advisors to provide high-quality investment guidance, strengthen portfolio recommendations, and promote consistent adoption of the firm’s investment solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary investment partner to advisors, providing guidance on portfolio construction, asset allocation, risk positioning, and manager selection.
  • Conduct portfolio diagnostics and provide insights on opportunities to align portfolios with firm views and model frameworks.
  • Support advisor and client discussions by articulating investment rationale, market context, and recommended actions.
  • Prepare for client reviews and key meetings, ensuring investment messaging is clear and consistent.
  • Support advisors in moving assets onto firm platforms by simplifying implementation and highlighting client benefits.
  • Convert consulting conversations into actionable, funded opportunities through proactive engagement and follow-through.
  • Reinforce best practices for using firm models, tools, and workflows to drive consistency and scale.
  • Develop high-quality, advisor-ready investment materials, proposals, model comparisons, and portfolio analytics.
  • Coordinate with overlay, trading, and operations teams to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant execution.
  • Maintain ownership throughout the recommendation-to-execution cycle to ensure a seamless advisor experience.
  • Ensure all messaging aligns with firm-approved language and product guidance.
  • Partner with research, wealth management, and proposal teams to align client-facing recommendations with firm portfolio construction standards.
  • Closely coordinate with the Head of Investment Consultant Services to ensure consistent field messaging and adherence to ICS frameworks.
  • Maintain strong alignment with Investment leadership on market outlook, platform updates, and investment priorities.

Requirements

  • 3–7 years of experience in wealth management, investments, or portfolio advisory roles.
  • Strong understanding of portfolio construction, asset allocation, financial markets, and investment products.
  • Proven ability to translate complex investment concepts into simple, advisor-ready guidance.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills; able to influence advisors and support client conversations.
  • Able to manage multiple advisor relationships in a fast-paced, field-driven environment.
  • Series 65/66 preferred or must obtain shortly after hire.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or CFA/CFP preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.
