About the role

As a Senior Investigator for the Corporate Security Incident Response Team, you’ll be assigned to a market covering all Verizon assets to evaluate risks and protect personnel, critical infrastructures, workplace violence, and organized retail crime. You will lead all criminal incidents involving employees, assets, and infrastructure, and produce thorough investigative reports to aid in case resolution. This is a field-based position in the Los Angeles area where field presence is required up to 50% of the time. The remaining time can be spent working from home. Candidates must reside within 30 miles of downtown LA.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure employee and customer safety across the enterprise and respond to active criminal threats of physical violence internally and externally.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Verizon and local, state, federal, and international law enforcement agencies and associations.
  • Conduct independent and objective investigations, the results of which are used by the business, HR, and Legal to affect Verizon’s interests.
  • Respond to emergency and exigent incidents to collaborate with local teams and law enforcement to ensure employee safety, secure the scene, and protect information flow and evidence.
  • Identify and report on intelligence of emerging trends and threats that could impact the safety of Verizon assets.
  • Perform threat assessments and provide recommendations to reduce Verizon’s exposure to theft, loss, risk, and violence.
  • Develop investigative plans, gather and evaluate facts, conduct investigative interviews, and write investigative reports used by Legal, Labor Relations, Employee Relations, and Human Resources for disciplinary decisions or by law enforcement for criminal investigation and prosecution.
  • Coordinate and lead responses to incidents affecting Verizon's critical network infrastructure, including sabotage, vandalism, and theft.
  • Collaborate internally with Supply Chain teams and externally with vendors and law enforcement to prevent, detect, investigate, and implement corrective measures for theft and cargo loss within the supply chain.
  • Identify, investigate, and mitigate organized retail crime, including conducting surveillance, gathering intelligence, and building cases for collaboration with law enforcement and internal teams.
  • Review brand protection with Verizon Indirect, Value Segment, and National Retail to identify criminal theft trends affecting Verizon assets.
  • Assist Verizon Corporate Protection Operation by providing executive protection, managing logistics, advance operations, and securing transportation as needed when principals travel.
  • Support the Corporate Protection Operations team during Special Events as necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant experience, demonstrated through work experience and/or military experience.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Experience recognizing and evaluating facts to objectively analyze situations.
  • Experience with Google Office Suite and MS Office Suite (Word, Docs, Excel, Sheets, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Strong project management skills with a proven track record of managing complex projects from inception to completion.
  • Experience prioritizing multiple responsibilities and processing high volumes of work in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Experience writing investigative reports.
  • Ability to travel within the LA territory up to 50% of the time.

Qualifications

  • CFI, CFE, CPP, LPQ, or LPC professional qualification.
  • Experience with corporate operations including Retail, Network, Supply Chain, Real Estate, Fleet, and other applicable corporate functions.
  • Former law enforcement experience.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information and matters.
  • Highly developed critical thinking and reasoning skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for writing concise and factual investigative reports.
  • Ability to recognize and evaluate facts and objectively analyze situations.

Schedule

This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of three days per week in the office and the remainder from home. Scheduled weekly hours are 40.

Pay

The annual salary range for this position based on a full-time schedule is $86,000.00 - $150,000.00. This is an incentive-based position with the potential to earn more.
