This is a hybrid position with an expectation of three on‑site days per week.

Responsibilities

    • Review transactional activity for consumer and business clients across ACH, card (credit/debit), cross‑border wires, and digital payments.
    • Prepare and file timely, high‑quality Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) to FinCEN and handle strategic escalations to bank partners.
    • Conduct enhanced due diligence (EDD) on high‑risk entities or patterns, including digital‑asset and crypto‑related activity.

    • Work closely with BSA/AML Officer, Quality Control, Risk Operations, Data Analytics, Legal, and other compliance teams.
    • Participate in internal and external audits, regulatory exams, and special projects.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in BSA/AML investigations, financial crimes, or fraud detection, preferably at a fintech, MSB, or financial institution.
  • Strong understanding of ACH, card transactions, cross‑border wires, bill‑payment, and digital money‑movement products.
  • Proven experience drafting and filing SARs in compliance with FinCEN requirements.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability to mentor, coach, and lead investigators.
  • Familiarity with U.S. laws and regulations including BSA, USA PATRIOT Act, FinCEN guidance, and related compliance frameworks.
  • Experience with AML transaction‑monitoring platforms and third‑party research tools (e.g., Chainalysis, WorldCheck, LexisNexis).
  • Ability to provide guidance to product or business partners on financial‑crimes compliance risks for fintech product launches and enhancements.
  • Preferred: experience in high‑volume transactional environments, fintech data environments, and digital‑asset transactions; CAMS, CFCS, or other relevant certification.

Key Attributes for Success

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to synthesize complex information quickly.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; comfortable presenting cases to senior leadership or regulators.
  • Self‑starter who can operate independently in a dynamic, high‑growth fintech environment while balancing team leadership and program growth.
  • Agile and adaptable; entrepreneurial and proactive in understanding and assisting across the BSA/AML space.
  • Ability to influence, challenge, and support senior leadership.
  • Very strong process and problem‑solving skills at both strategic and functional levels.
