Senior Internal Communications Manager
About the role
The Senior Internal Communications Manager plays a crucial role in shaping Coinbase's employee experience and reinforcing the company's mission, strategy, and culture. Reporting to the Director of Internal Communications, this role involves defining and owning the internal communications strategy, ensuring employees have the necessary information, and driving change through effective communication.
Responsibilities
- Define and own the internal communications strategy for a portfolio of stakeholders
- Partner directly with executives and senior leaders on messaging, approach, and timing
- Create and improve systems, including AI-powered tools and workflows, to scale communications across a global, remote workforce
- Measure the effectiveness of communications programs and leverage data for continuous improvement
- Develop a deep understanding of the company mission, strategy, and culture to reinforce in all communications
- Proactively identify and implement AI-native approaches to internal communications, such as content creation, personalization, and measurement
- Support and execute organization or company-wide live events, including drafting talking points, advising on event flow and structure, preparing speakers, etc.
- Partner with Internal & External Comms teammates to drive proactive/reactive communications and coordinate internal issues management
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in internal, external, or corporate communications, media, or another writing-intensive role
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills, prioritizing clarity and brevity in all communications
- Well-developed "executive presence" with experience directly partnering with senior executives on communications initiatives
- Demonstrated experience using AI tools to accelerate and improve communications work, ensuring responsible use and delivering business-ready outputs
- Resilience and grit to maintain a proactive, even-keeled posture in the face of rapid organizational change and shifting priorities
- Experience communicating to a highly distributed, remote workforce
- Extremely organized, capable of generating and implementing ideas, balancing speed and quality, and having an acute sense for what matters most in a given moment
- Enthusiasm for crypto with a willingness to develop real fluency in the space

Pay
Base salary varies by location (see range below). Total compensation may also include equity and bonus eligibility, and benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401(k)). Annual base salary range (excluding equity and bonus): $205,785 USD - $242,100 USD
Schedule
Coinbase operates on a remote-first model, with quarterly in-person working sessions called "surges." Employees are expected to be available during these sessions.
