Senior Integrated Water Resource Planner / Engineer

About the role

As part of our Water Business Group, you’ll help shape how communities manage water for generations to come. From delivering safe drinking water and treating wastewater responsibly to developing sustainable water supplies and protecting lives and property through flood control, your work will directly support public health, environmental sustainability, and infrastructure resilience.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and direct medium- to large-size planning and environmental compliance projects on behalf of the federal government
  • Prepare, plan and analyze compliance documents
  • Direct work of others in completion of required studies, documents and reports
  • Demonstrate extensive public participation, agency coordination, planning and programming experience
  • Perform other duties as needed

Requirements

  • Experience with federal plan formulation requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or closely related field
  • A minimum of 10 years technical and/or field experience in complex environmental planning projects
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite
  • Self-starter with excellent writing and communication skills
  • Strong conceptual, organizational, problem-solving and research abilities
  • Technical and/or field experience dealing with environmental impact issues, associated permit processes and documentation preparation/review

Qualifications

Skills

  • Leadership and technical experience on integrated planning related to water supply, flood risk management, coastal storm risk management, environmental restoration, inland and deep draft navigation infrastructure projects
  • Experience in watershed scale feasibility studies/assessments for the federal government (ex. USACE, Bureau of Reclamation)
  • Experience in a combination of subjects such as hydraulic, power modeling, hydrology development and analysis; climate change modeling; cost benefit analysis and statistical analysis
  • Experience in project delivery teams as study team leader or planning lead; mentoring junior staff; managing medium-sized projects within large-scale programs; and effectively interacting with clients and peers

Pay

  • The expected compensation range for this position is $100,000 - $195,000 depending upon skills, experience, education and geographical location.
