Senior Insurance Loss Control Consultant - Commercial Field Services

About the role

Alexander & Schmidt is seeking a Senior Insurance Loss Control Consultant to perform inspections and prepare detailed reports for insurance underwriting purposes. These reports help insurance companies properly insure commercial buildings or business operations for new policies or renewals.

Responsibilities

• Prepare in-depth reports for insurance underwriting purposes.
• Assess commercial property and casualty lines, including adequacy of sprinkler systems, inland marine coverages, and workers compensation.
• Conduct loss analysis to identify trends, root causes, and appropriate corrective actions.
• Provide risk improvement services including training, consulting, hazard analysis, and regulatory assessments.
• Upload completed reports, photos, and diagrams through a special website or complete reports on web-based systems.
• Travel within a 60-mile radius to conduct inspections and provide services.

Requirements

• MUST HAVE 10+ years’ experience with a major carrier or as an independent contractor providing commercial insurance loss control services.
• Extensive understanding of commercial property and casualty lines.
• Property assessments may involve determining the adequacy of sprinkler systems based on occupancy, commodities, and racking systems.
• Inland Marine coverages include builders risk, contractor’s equipment, motor truck cargo, WLL, and MOLL, among others.
• Commercial General Liability includes Premises, Operations, Products, and Completed Operations.
• Workers Compensation assessments ensure regulatory compliance and workplace safety.
• Specialty fields such as Environmental and Professional Liability are covered.
• Strong communication skills, including excellent writing ability, organizational skills, and proficiency in computer applications.
• Exceptional time management skills.
• Professional certifications such as CSP, OHST, ALCM, or ARM are preferred but not required.

• Must have extensive experience in commercial insurance loss control.
• Ability to assess and analyze complex property and liability risks.
• Experience in preparing detailed reports and conducting loss analyses.
• Knowledge of various insurance coverages and regulations.
• Proficiency in using specialized software for report preparation and submission.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $120,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
