Key Responsibilities
- Develop instrumentation and controls drawings, layouts, plans, sections, elevations, and detailed designs using established drafting practices and standards.
- Prepare and coordinate instrumentation and controls design documentation in accordance with project and client requirements.
- Review and interpret sketches, specifications, reference drawings, and design data to produce accurate deliverables.
- Participate in design reviews and provide technical input related to design, drafting, and compliance requirements.
- Support and guide junior designers, ensuring quality and consistency across project deliverables.
- Perform routine calculations and design checks required for drawing preparation.
- Cookbook walkdowns as required to verify and document existing site conditions.
- Deliver assigned work scopes within established schedules and budgets while adhering to quality assurance procedures.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in instrumentation, controls, or electrical design and drafting.
- Experience within the Power industry is required; candidates with only traditional Oil & Gas experience may not be the best fit.
- Proficiency with SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI), AutoCAD, and MicroStation.
- Experience with SmartPlant 3D and participation in 3D model reviews.
- Experience with AVEVA E3D is considered a plus.
- Solid understanding of instrumentation and controls fundamentals.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
