About the role

Senior Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) Technician at Ever-Green Energy is responsible for maintaining, repairing, calibrating, installing, and troubleshooting all plant controls/measurement equipment. This role requires a Senior I&C position adherence to company standards and compliance with safety regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Software and Database Maintenance: Daily alarm monitoring, perform backups of control logic, database files, and graphics. Software and Patching, schedule and setpoint reviews.
  • Physical Controller Maintenance: hardware inspections, tighten connections, battery replacement, and cleaning.
  • Field Device Maintenance: Override verifications, perform troubleshooting, maintenance, calibration and testing on all plant control/measurement equipment including wiring. Repair and replace faulty control/measurement equipment and perform preventative maintenance.
  • Determine the reason for unexpected malfunctions or occurrences in plant operations and take appropriate action to correct any electrical and/or instrumentation problems involved.
  • Help maintain a testing laboratory and test/repair all plant control and measurement equipment in order to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the plant.
  • Ensure parts for plant control and measurement equipment and consumables are ordered so replacements are available as needed.
  • Perform major and minor installation of equipment.
  • Respond to off-hour calls for plant emergencies.
  • Lead or assist vendors, as required, in conducting predictive and preventive maintenance tests and diagnostics as directed by the General Manager or Plant Superintendent.
  • Review plant modifications and projects, as requested, to ensure compatibility with existing plant and conformance with plant requirements and standards.
  • Lay out and plan control/measurement installations and other electrical work and coordinate work with engineering, operations and other maintenance disciplines.
  • Support plant operations, including operating the Thermal Plant, as assigned by the Plant Superintendent or General Manager.
  • Perform other tasks as directed.

Requirements

  • BAS/BMS, PLC, HMI and Instrumentation and Control formal training.
  • 35 years’ experience performing comparable duties in a similar industrial plant setting. Strong in Instrumentation and Control.
  • Valid driver’s license required and clear driving record.

Qualifications

Applicants must be able to maneuver throughout industrial facilities such as energy plants and building HVAC mechanical rooms, etc. Must be capable of performing the essential functions of this job, including but not limited to: constant climbing ramps/stairs, frequent crouching, frequent reaching at/below shoulder level, frequent reaching overhead by extending hands and arms in a 150 to 180 degrees vertical arc, occasional crawling, occasional foot/leg controls, occasional keyboarding, occasional kneeling, occasional pushing, occasional pulling, occasional standing/walking, occasional climbing ladders/scaffolding, frequent communicating verbally, frequent far visual acuity at 20 feet or more, frequent understanding, and distinguishing speech and/or other sounds, frequent near vision acuity at approximately 20 inches or less, frequent peripheral vision, frequent hearing, frequent fine manipulation of picking, pinching, or otherwise working primarily with fingers rather than the whole hand, frequent gross manipulation of seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with hands, frequent reaching overhead by extending hands and arms in a 150 to 180 degrees vertical arc, frequent stopping, frequent confined space with limited entry or exit, frequent maneuvering throughout industrial facilities such as energy plants and building HVAC mechanical rooms, etc.

Pay

The hourly range for this position is: $52.00 to $58.50.

Hours are flexible and may vary depending on the needs of the company.
