Senior Inspector

About the role

RK&K's Construction Engineering Inspection (CEI) and Construction Management Division is hiring Senior Construction Inspectors in the Lakeland/Polk County area.

Responsibilities

• Provide construction management support, including inspection and monitoring of construction structures to ensure compliance with safety regulations
• Engage in solving complex problems to provide technical evaluation and sound solutions
• Maintain oversight of the activities of other Inspectors
• Communicate effectively across different platforms with project management, clients, stakeholders, and contractors
• Interface with clients, state and federal agencies, and other engineering disciplines on construction projects
• Recordkeeping and reporting as required

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent with four (4) years of experience in construction inspection, two (2) years of which shall have been in roadway construction inspection
• Must have the following certifications as required by the scope of work for the project: CTQP Concrete Field Inspector, CTQP Asphalt Roadway, CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection, CTQP Drilled Shaft, FDOT Intermediate MOT

Qualifications

• Preferred skills and experience include previous roadway asphalt inspection experience, Critical Structures Construction Issues certification, FDOT Self Study Computer Based Training (e.g. MSE Wall Inspector)

Skills

Strong communication and problem-solving skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, familiarity with construction industry standards and regulations.

Schedule

Hours are flexible but require the ability to work on-site at various construction sites.
