About the Role
To assist the Infrastructure Operations Manager (Networks) in ensuring the integrity of highly available network infrastructure to provide services to end users. The post holder will be responsible for implementing, maintaining, supporting, developing, and in some cases designing communication networks throughout the NHSL estate, continuing the ongoing development of the NHSL data communications infrastructure. The services provided directly impact the continuity of patient care within NHSL.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, implement, maintain, and enforce suitable network policies and procedures for use within NHSL.
- Maintain a thorough technical understanding of the NHSL network design (e.g., DHCP, QoS, Security, IP Routing, VLANs, Circuit terminology).
- Design, set up, configure, and maintain public/corporate enterprise wireless networks.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of Local Area Networking.
Requirements
- Educated to degree level in an IT discipline with extensive experience in a network support role.
- Proven experience supporting multi-vendor networks and familiarity with prevailing network standards in the telecommunications industry, particularly Cisco technology solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work within a team environment.
- A full UK/EU/EEA driving licence is required.
