Senior Infrastructure and Cloud Engineer (Agentic Managed Services)

About the role

The Agentic Managed Services (AMS) Group at Slalom is redefining how technology managed services are delivered — combining an AI-agent platform, experienced engineers, and global operations to run critical systems for enterprise clients. The AMS Product Engineering team designs and builds the platform at the center of this model, used by Slalom teams and enterprise clients around the world. It is a small, senior team that moves quickly, holds a high technical bar, and scales its impact through automation and AI rather than team size.

What You'll Do

• Own daily build and operations of a Crossplane-based fleet control plane on Kubernetes (Amazon EKS): authoring compositions and custom resource definitions, and contributing to composition functions written in Go.
• Operate the CI-driven deployment model — GitHub Actions with OIDC-based cloud access — that applies desired state across the fleet.
• Apply AI agents to routine infrastructure work — provisioning, patching, drift remediation — and contribute improvements to the team's shared agent tooling.
• Support deployment operations across single-tenant client environments: coordinated rollouts, version management, and telemetry under constrained network egress.
• Run the platform's managed observability and secrets foundations: Amazon Managed Prometheus and Grafana, and External Secrets Operator backed by AWS Secrets Manager.
• Maintain infrastructure runbooks and roadmaps to the team's documentation standards, escalating novel architecture decisions to the infrastructure lead.

What You Bring

• 7+ years in infrastructure or platform engineering with strong software engineering fundamentals (Go, Python, or TypeScript).
• Production experience with Kubernetes and control-plane-based infrastructure management (Crossplane or similar).
• Deep AWS experience, including workload identity (IRSA / OIDC federation) and operating under a no-static-credentials posture.
• Real-world experience applying AI agents to infrastructure workflows beyond code completion.
• Strong operational judgment: knowing when to automate, when to escalate, and when to halt a rollout.

What Sets You Apart

• Deep Crossplane experience: compositions, XRDs, providers, and composition functions in Go.
• Experience deploying into customer-owned cloud accounts or network-restricted environments.
• Software supply-chain security experience: image signing, provenance attestation, and admission policy enforcement.
