About the role

The Senior Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) will support the cybersecurity team at RTX, a leading aerospace and defense company. The role involves interfacing with the ISSM to ensure compliance with relevant security standards and policies, conducting audits, developing and reviewing security plans, and providing security education and awareness.

Responsibilities

  • Auditing and monitoring system compliance
  • Auditing and investigating information system security violations
  • Developing and approving configuration management requests
  • Conducting technical and administrative assessments
  • Integrating new cybersecurity processes, procedures, and tools
  • Supporting the creation, review, and update of cybersecurity documentation

Requirements

  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance
  • U.S. citizenship
  • Experience in cybersecurity, systems security, or hardening
  • Relevant experience in compliance-based auditing using RMF, DAAPM, JSIG, NISPOM, and other regulations
  • Experience with information system security tools such as Splunk, Forcepoint, Ivanti, Tenable, ACAS, HBSS, etc.
  • Familiarity with DISA STIGs
  • Experience in cyber incident response

Qualifications

  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years’ experience.
  • Experience working in DoD classified operating and/or laboratory environments
  • Experience with various information system security tools
  • Familiarity with implementation of Government directives and policies
  • Experience in the execution of the Assessment & Authorization processes
  • Experience providing technical security consultation for complex, cross-domain, heterogeneous classified networked environments
  • Familiarity with large multi-facility networks including various complex components, including Windows and Linux environments
  • Experience interpreting, implementing, and assessing DISA STIGs
  • Experience in cyber incident response

RTX offers competitive salaries ranging from $86,800 to $165,200, along with a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits vary based on the specific business unit and whether the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $86,800 - $165,200.

The role is primarily onsite.
