About the role

The Senior Industrial Engineer position at Dauch is an outstanding opportunity to contribute to the flawless execution of manufacturing processes within the automotive industry. This role is hybrid and based at the World Headquarters in Detroit, Michigan.

Responsibilities

  • Develops labor standards by analyzing work samples and methods; measures work performance.
  • Improves labor utilization by studying work methods; tests modifications; designs new methods; recommends job restructuring.
  • Improves workflow by studying process flow charts; recommends modifications in workflow, work stations and product; develops new procedures; recommends equipment modifications and purchases.
  • Reduces waste by studying methods, equipment, and operator techniques; recommends changes; identifies and analyzes waste.
  • Implements work improvement programs by conferring with management and engineering staff.
  • Prepares work-analysis information and reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Coaches others using skills and business knowledge.
  • Completes work improvement projects by training and guiding operators and supervisors.
  • Aids in the development of annual budget activities and tracks monthly performance.
  • Maintains operations guidelines by writing and updating policies, procedures, and methods.
  • Protects organization value by keeping information confidential; cautioning others regarding potential breaches.
  • Contributes to industrial engineering and organization success by welcoming related, different, and new requests; helping others accomplish job results.
  • Responsible for productivity initiative database management, and monthly status review preparation for senior management.
  • Develops and evaluates pilot programs, simulations, and prototypes, as well as capacity, headcount, and cycle times models.
  • Implements new and enhanced processes and tools.
  • Understands and adheres to established company standards and systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience as an Industrial Engineer in a manufacturing facility, preferably within the automotive field.
  • Ability and willingness to adopt flexible work hours in order to support the launch of manufacturing processes and meet program demands, including travel approximately 25% of the time (domestic and international).
  • Consistent track record of efficiently implementing process improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Excellent computer skills (including Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Excel, etc.) for the purposes of communicating, preparing reports, and organizing data.
  • Experience using advanced digital technologies to optimize processes, such as artificial intelligence, machine learning and data analytics.
