About the role

Rexel USA is seeking a Senior Industrial Automation Specialist – Industrial Controls to join our REXEL team in Tampa, FL. This role supports Rockwell industrial control and automation solutions, helping to design, specify, and support practical industrial systems for various markets.

Responsibilities

  • Support Rockwell industrial control and automation solutions, including new product launches and technologies.
  • Help specify, demo, and implement Rockwell products and systems.
  • Work with customers and internal teams to recommend the right automation solutions.
  • Conduct customer site visits, demonstrations, and proof-of-concepts.
  • Prepare proposals, documentation, and training materials.
  • Represent Rexel at customer visits, trade shows, and Tech Tour events.
  • Build customer relationships and help grow business across the territory.
  • Meet or exceed sales goals of assigned technology offers.
  • Develop sales strategies, promotions, programs, and plans for sales growth.
  • Develop annual performance goals, objectives, and sales action plans.
  • Prepare periodic sales funnel, weekly sales reports, etc.
  • Provide technical support for internal and external customers via on-site visit, phone, and email.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of equivalent experience in the electrical distribution industry or related experience.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • High School or GED.
  • 4 Year / Bachelor's Degree (Preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of industrial controls, automation, and drive systems.
  • Rockwell product experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable giving demos, presentations, and troubleshooting in the field.
  • Self-motivated and able to work well with sales, specialist, and service teams.

Skills & Abilities

  • Intermediate/advanced computer skills, specifically with Excel/Outlook/Word.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, blueprints, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from small groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to practice good interpersonal relations, using tact, courtesy, a positive attitude toward customers and co-workers, pleasant communication etiquette, and a general attitude as a representative of goodwill on behalf of the company at work or during company travel.
  • Ability to develop and present specialized instruction concerning the specific high-tech equipment in the assigned area of responsibility.
  • Ability to mentor, train, and coach peers.

  • Working Environment: Exposed to unpleasant or disagreeable physical environment such as high noise level and/or exposure to heat and cold - Frequently – 21% to 50%.
