About the role
The Senior Industrial Automation Field Service Technician supports process and discrete manufacturers by evaluating their installed Rockwell Automation hardware, software, and networked equipment. This role involves troubleshooting, system modernization, and supporting various aspects of Rockwell software platforms.
Responsibilities
- Execute documented procedures on-site at customer facilities
- On-site collection of current installed base through site walk-through and use of data collection tools
- Core competency around troubleshooting Rockwell Automation products and associated manufacturing technology
- Communicate needs and issues with management to avoid problems before they arise
- Manage time in such a way that scheduling issues do not arise
- Work positively in a team-based environment that is in continuous movement
- Represent Rexel while performing services on customers' equipment and applications
- Develop relationships with key customer stakeholders
- Present findings to technical and non-technical audiences
- Arc articulate the value of services offerings to customers during the lifecycle of the engagement
- Work with customers to determine customer problems, needs, and goals, thereby identifying opportunities for product and services outside of the scope of the original engagement
- Document work activities in appropriate, professional report format
- Aid in the clarification and resolution of customer issues
- Mentor, train, and coach other Field Service Technicians
- May act as a Team Lead
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- 7+ years of hands-on experience working in an industrial manufacturing environment
- Exposure to industrial Lockout Tag out standards and best practices
- Exposure to industrial Arch Flash standards and best practices
- Exposure to Industrial Control Systems including PLC, HMI/SCADA, plant historian, motor control, motion control, etc. technology and applications (Rockwell or comparable platforms)
- High School or GED - Required
- Associate's Degree - Preferred
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or related technology-driven degree - Preferred

- Leads and mentors, trains, and coaches peers
