Senior Industrial Automation Engineer
About the role
Condesign is seeking a skilled Automation Engineer to join our team and client as a consultant in Gothenburg. The ideal candidate is a team player who communicates effectively, enjoys collaboration, takes full ownership of deliveries, and continually strives to help the organization deliver excellent products and services to end users and customers. The projects focus on the design and commissioning of vessel and harbor electrification, as well as the optimization of vessel drivelines. We value a high theoretical understanding combined with practical experience in the domain.

Responsibilities
- Programming and development of PLC & HMI systems
- Simulation and testing of software prior to Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)
- Documenting software-related development and testing
- Supporting the commissioning process on-site at ships and harbors
- Providing input for improvements and development of products and processes
- Supporting the service department with technical input for improvement and issue reports
- Collaborating with colleagues from other departments for development and testing of product solutions
- Maintaining close customer contacts
- Working with vessel engine control systems, vessel and harbor electrification, and instrumentation configuration and commissioning
Requirements
- MSc/BSc in Electronics, System Controls & Mechatronics, Industrial Automation, or similar
- Strong understanding and experience in Electrical & Electronics
- Experience in driving, developing, testing, fault tracing, and debugging of electrical and electronics systems
- Good knowledge of design, testing, and documentation
- Fluent in English (written and spoken); fluency in Swedish is meritorious
- Driving License
Experience and knowledge in the following areas are highly valued:
- Electronics and automation
- Marine engineering and/or technical support
- Vessel and harbor electrification
