About the Role

Join Deloitte's Global Trade Analytics team and help some of the world's most well-known companies—including over 75 percent of the Fortune 100—manage global trade decisions and optimize their supply chains. As a Senior Consultant, you'll lead trade data analytics and technology enablement projects that strengthen import/export compliance and improve supply chain performance.

Responsibilities

  • Translate complex trade and supply chain questions into actionable data products, including dashboards, automated reporting, exception monitoring, and audit-ready outputs by integrating data across ERP, Global Trade, and logistics systems.
  • Help importers and exporters achieve worldwide compliance and realize supply chain efficiencies through analytics-driven insights, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Advise multinational companies on global import and export strategies and compliance using data-driven decision-making.
  • Navigate Global Trade and ERP systems, including related trade/compliance workflows and data/process touchpoints.
  • Perform analytics to improve supply chain and trade efficiency, supporting areas such as trade and security, customs valuation, first sale for export, and transfer pricing policy impacts on customs valuation.
  • Conduct trade-related data discovery and analysis across customs, ERP, and logistics datasets to identify compliance risks, control gaps, and operational improvement opportunities.
  • Support trade technology strategy and enablement, including current-state assessment, requirements definition, solution options, roadmap development, and implementation planning.
  • Contribute to the delivery of analytics and technology solutions through data mapping, data quality assessment, testing/validation, and stakeholder communications/training.
  • Support advanced data and technology integrations for trade analytics, working with client teams to connect and integrate data across cloud platforms and data lakes (e.g., defining ingestion and transformation requirements, aligning on data models and governance, partnering with engineering/IT on pipelines, and supporting testing/validation and deployment).

The Team

Deloitte's Global Trade practice is a national team within Deloitte Tax LLP's Indirect Tax business. The team advises multinational companies on global import and export strategies, compliance, and technology enablement. Composed of attorneys, operations experts, technology specialists, customs brokers, auditors, and trade management professionals, the practice helps clients assess and automate their international trade management procedures across major trading regions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, analytics, supply chain, information systems, engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in analytics/BI, trade operations, or technology enablement, including reporting, dashboarding, and data-driven process improvement.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering analytics solutions using tools such as Alteryx, Power BI, SQL, and/or Python, including data transformation, visualization, testing, and integration with cloud or enterprise data environments.
  • Familiarity with customs, ERP, logistics, and GTM data/processes, with the ability to use those datasets to identify compliance risks, control gaps, and operational improvement opportunities.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%, on average, based on client and project needs.
  • One of the following active accreditations (obtained, in process, or willing and able to obtain):
    • Licensed CPA in state of practice/primary office (if eligible to sit for the CPA).
    • Licensed Attorney.
    • Enrolled Agent.
    • US Customhouse Broker's License.
    • CUSECO (Certified U.S. Export Control Officer).
    • Foreign equivalent of trade credentials.
    • CUSICO (Certified US Import Compliance Officer).
    • Professional Accreditation in EU Customs Law (post-masters).
    • CBAP - Certified Business Analysis Professional.
    • Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSCPO) - SCRUM.org.
    • Project Management Professional (PMP).
    • Program Management Professional (PgMP).
    • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO).
    • Microsoft Azure certification.
    • Oracle Certified Professional.
    • Alteryx Designer- Advanced Certification.
    • Vendor certification for management of implementations (Oracle, SAP, Thomson Reuters, etc.).
    • Relevant industry certification such as Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD), AWS (Amazon Web Services), or GCP (Google Cloud Platform).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree such as MST, MAcc, JD, or LLM.
  • Familiarity with Global Trade Management (GTM) and ERP systems and related processes (e.g., import/export compliance processes and internal controls).
  • Foreign language skills or study abroad experience.
  • Strong Excel skills, including advanced functions.
  • Programming/scripting exposure (e.g., SQL, Python, R, JavaScript) for data preparation and analysis.
  • Understanding of data fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with trade management software such as SAP GTS, Oracle GTM, etc.
  • Experience with analytics/business intelligence tools or platforms.
  • Experience or interest in:
    • Microsoft Office solutions (e.g., VBA, .net, Power Apps).
    • Data wrangling solutions (e.g., Power Query, Alteryx, PowerBI).
    • Other programming languages (e.g., SQL, Python).
  • Experience supporting advanced data architectures or integrations (e.g., data lake/warehouse integrations, automated pipelines), including partnering with engineers/IT.
  • Experience developing operations and analytics solutions (e.g., dashboards/KPIs, controls monitoring, data quality approaches) to solve trade or supply chain problems.
  • Project management experience demonstrating strong organizational, data management, project planning, execution, and people skills.

Pay

The wage range for this role is $86,700 to $177,125. The range considers factors such as skill sets, experience, training, licensure, certifications, and business/organizational needs. Compensation decisions depend on individual circumstances. You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to program rules, where awards depend on individual and organizational performance.

Schedule

This role operates within a hybrid work model, requiring in-person co-location 2-3 days per week.
