About the role

The Senior Incident Manager leads the incident response function for Prime Video's video-on-demand platform. Key responsibilities include defining the strategy and operating model for the incident response team, owning operational metrics and fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and directly managing high-severity incidents.

Responsibilities

  • Define the strategy for the evolution of Prime Video’s response to video on demand impacting incidents.
  • Establish the operating model for how the new, dedicated function will operate within Prime Video.
  • Leverage technical expertise to develop the vision for incident management tooling and capabilities to improve observability and triage.
  • Lead the Incident Response function, ensuring the globally distributed team is ready to respond 24x7.
  • Owning operational metrics and setting clear, measurable goals for the quality of incident response.
  • Drive incident response for high severity incidents, coordinating efforts across multiple engineering and operational teams.
  • Manage communications and serve as the single point of contact for executive leaders.
  • Build relationships with other Incident Response teams across Amazon to share best practices and collaborate during cross-organizational outages/incidents.
  • Educate leaders and engineers on advances in incident response capabilities and READI tooling.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of incident management experience, including incident response for a large-scale enterprise.
  • Strong technical, analytical, and communication skills to liaise effectively with engineering and executive teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • 8+ years of IT infrastructure management, incident management, or related experience.

Skills

  • Effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing.

Pay

Base salary range: $139,300.00 - $208,000.00 USD annually.

Schedule

Incident response provided 24x7x365 from two locations.
