Senior Impact Strategist

About the Role

The Senior Impact Strategist will strengthen Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Rochester’s capacity to learn from data and improve client outcomes. This visionary role advances the organization’s commitment to achieving the greatest possible impact for those served by focusing on understanding client needs, evaluating program effectiveness, and communicating data-driven insights to inform decisions and enhance services.

The role is embedded within the organization, fostering alignment across agencies, building shared tools, and strengthening local capacity to ensure insights from agency experience inform organizational direction. This is an onsite position based in Rochester with some travel to sites within the 12-county service area.

Responsibilities

  • Provide subject-matter expertise and hands-on leadership to expand and integrate data collection, analysis, reporting, and evaluation related to client service delivery.
  • Lead the design and adoption of tools and processes that support a culture of inquiry and data-driven decision-making.
  • Translate data into actionable insights through data storytelling, developing clear, compelling narratives for executive leadership, program leaders, and the Board.
  • Strengthen capacity to ensure services deliver the best possible outcomes for clients.
  • Champion a culture of data-informed decision-making and continuous learning.
  • Elevate capacity for data collection, aggregation, and analysis.
  • Support reporting needs and define impact strategy.
  • Identify and apply evidence-based research to improve organizational performance.

Qualifications

  • Support for the mission and values of Catholic Charities.
  • Proven experience leading impact measurement, evaluation, or program performance in complex nonprofit or human services organizations.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills with expertise in data analysis, data management systems, data visualization software, metrics development, and reporting.
  • Ability to translate data into actionable insights and compelling narratives for diverse audiences.
  • Bachelor’s degree in public policy, public health, or a related field, with 3-5 years of related experience (required). Graduate degree (MPH, MEd, MPP, or related field) preferred.
  • Exceptional collaboration, communication, and change management capabilities.
  • Passion for social justice, poverty alleviation, and community impact.

Work Environment

The role is primarily office-based in Rochester, with occasional travel to sites within the 12-county service area. The work environment is typically quiet, with physical demands including frequent sitting, standing, walking, typing, and light lifting. Pay

Competitive salary in the range of $75,000 - $130,000 per year, depending on education and experience.
