Responsibilities
- Possess and demonstrate engineering knowledge to design electrical systems including lighting, power distribution, low voltage systems (fire alarm systems, telecommunications, data networks, lighting control systems, power monitoring systems, etc.)
- Review and establish project scope, electrical budget, design approach, and applicable constraints with the Project Manager or client
- Knowledge of BICSI guidelines and NFPA -72
- Able to design public address systems and audio visual systems
- Able to conduct threat and security analysis reports
- Prepare feasibility studies and schematic design packages
- Communicate and work with all other disciplines to produce coordinated construction documents
- Edit or draft project specifications
- Develop and mentor less experienced staff
- Develop accurate project cost estimates
- Conduct field measuring and checking at the construction site
- Maintain organized project file containing project calculations, correspondence, appropriate reference materials, etc.
- Review project submittals (shop drawings) for conformance with contract documents; specify action required for conformance
- Perform related duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related degree or in engineering or construction technology
- RCDD certification required
- Revit proficiency required
- Security Certification CPP PSP from ASIS or ICAO
- 12+ years of related and progressively more responsible experience in electrical engineering field
Qualifications
- Knowledge of all aspects of BICSI guidelines and NFPA -72
- Able to design a Public Address System
- Able to design audio visual systems
- Able to provide threat and security analysis reports for various types of facilities
- Able to adhere to project quality, budget, and schedule
- Microsoft Office proficiency, emphasis on Excel and MSWord
- Autodesk (Revit and AutoCAD) proficiency
- Acoustic Calculators EASE proficiency
- BIM360 proficiency
- Bluebeam proficiency
Skills
