Responsibilities

  • Possess and demonstrate engineering knowledge to design electrical systems including lighting, power distribution, low voltage systems (fire alarm systems, telecommunications, data networks, lighting control systems, power monitoring systems, etc.)
  • Review and establish project scope, electrical budget, design approach, and applicable constraints with the Project Manager or client
  • Knowledge of BICSI guidelines and NFPA -72
  • Able to design public address systems and audio visual systems
  • Able to conduct threat and security analysis reports
  • Prepare feasibility studies and schematic design packages
  • Communicate and work with all other disciplines to produce coordinated construction documents
  • Edit or draft project specifications
  • Develop and mentor less experienced staff
  • Develop accurate project cost estimates
  • Conduct field measuring and checking at the construction site
  • Maintain organized project file containing project calculations, correspondence, appropriate reference materials, etc.
  • Review project submittals (shop drawings) for conformance with contract documents; specify action required for conformance
  • Perform related duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related degree or in engineering or construction technology
  • RCDD certification required
  • Revit proficiency required
  • Security Certification CPP PSP from ASIS or ICAO
  • 12+ years of related and progressively more responsible experience in electrical engineering field

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of all aspects of BICSI guidelines and NFPA -72
  • Able to design a Public Address System
  • Able to design audio visual systems
  • Able to provide threat and security analysis reports for various types of facilities
  • Able to adhere to project quality, budget, and schedule
  • Microsoft Office proficiency, emphasis on Excel and MSWord
  • Autodesk (Revit and AutoCAD) proficiency
  • Acoustic Calculators EASE proficiency
  • BIM360 proficiency
  • Bluebeam proficiency

Skills
