About the role

We are seeking a Senior ICT (Information & Communication Technology)/Security BIM Designer to join our team. This role involves working independently to deliver accurate and professional design documents, collaborating with multidisciplinary project teams, and coordinating with integrated project teams to develop functional requirements and system designs.

Responsibilities

  • Work independently to deliver accurate and professional design documents.
  • Show design intent and assist with system related activities within all construction administration (CA) activities.
  • Collaborate with Junior and Senior ICT/Security designers to ensure customer needs/objectives are reflected in the 3-D model utilizing Revit or similar software.
  • Coordinate with integrated, multidisciplinary project teams to develop functional requirements, system designs, and other project related requirements.
  • Avoid conflicts between ICT/Security scopes and other disciplines by performing de-clash exercises in Revit.

Requirements

  • Strong engineering knowledge of both telecommunications (horizontal/backbone cabling and pathways) or electronic security systems (access control, intrusion detection, video surveillance).
  • Understanding of engineering or architectural concepts.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and practices, along with discipline codes and specifications.
  • Experience with Data Centers and Federal Entities.
  • Preferred qualifications include BICSI RCDD, DCDC, OSP, or RTPM certification, PSP (Physical Security Professional) certification, and a “Can-Do” attitude and problem-solving mindset.

Qualifications

  • Technical degree or a combination of education and relevant experience.
  • A minimum of 10 years related industry experience.
  • Advanced skillset of 3D design software and document management infrastructure.
  • Advanced skillset of 3D Coordination tools.
  • Competency of Microsoft Office products and communication tools.
  • Advanced understanding of engineering or architectural concepts.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and practices, along with discipline codes and specifications.
  • Excellent communication skills, attention to detail and organizational traits are essential.
  • Leadership and mentoring skillsets required.

Skills

Strong computer skills and proficiency or ability to work in Bluebeam and Microsoft Office. Ability to work in Revit is preferred with the ability to learn new applications quickly. Knowledge of engineering drawings and design standards and practices. Strong desire for continuous learning and professional education.

The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions. Temporary and part-time roles eligible for limited benefits.)
