Senior I&E Designer - Port Neches

Daily Duties

• Support the engineering department with Management of Change (MOC) and Pre-Startup Safety Review (PSSR) processes.
• Create and Update Instrument Spec Sheets for engineering department’s approval.
• Assemble and review the instrument documentation issued for construction.
• Work with the Control Engineer to help sizing and selection of the appropriate instrument technology.
• Work with onsite Maintenance on small project design.
• Estimate and Forecast Instrument Man-hours Requirement for each Project.
• Participate in weekly engineering meetings to provide updates to ensure the projects are moving forward according to schedule and budget.
• Participate in EHS safety, maintenance scheduling and general MOC meetings.
• Participate in Environmental, Health, & Safety initiatives as set forth by the company.
• Participates in and completes company-required training programs.

Skills And Knowledge

• Familiarity with chemical plant control system (DCS).
• Batch Process experience preferred.
• Familiarity with Process Safety Management (PSM).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• AutoCAD, Technical Drafting, P&ID’s.
• Able to navigate through multiple projects and priorities changes.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
• Must have a level of proficiency AutoCAD.
• Experience with documentation Systems, Internet, Email and Microsoft Office programs.
• Proven ability to understand P&ID’s.

Education And Experience

• Associates degree in Drafting and Design or a related field.
• 15+ years of I&E design experience.
