Senior HVAC Technician

About the role

Washington College is seeking an experienced Senior HVAC Technician to join our team. Located in Chestertown, Maryland, we are a leading liberal arts college dedicated to operating, maintaining, and expanding our comprehensive HVAC platform.

Responsibilities

• Performing maintenance and repairs on commercial HVAC systems including gas and oil furnaces, hydronic boilers, heat pumps, air conditioners, ductless systems, and geothermal.
• Ability to troubleshoot, repair, and perform system maintenance.
• Thoroughly document findings and present reports to management team.
• Complete assigned service calls and maintain communication with team throughout the shift.
• Knowledge of various refrigerant types, gases, electrical voltages.
• Participate in continued HVAC training.
• Ensuring code compliance and following all safety procedures and practices.

Qualifications

• Understanding of advanced principles of heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration.
• Working knowledge of hydronic systems.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in reading schematics.
• Ability to work in confined spaces.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Goal-oriented.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to accommodate the needs of the organization.
• Clean driving history and valid Driver's License.
• Clean criminal background history and pre-employment drug screen.
• Energetic, positive, and self-motivated.

Education

• High school diploma, GED, or suitable equivalent.
• EPA Certified.
• NATE Certified.
• A+ Experieince.

Experience

• 7+ years experience as an HVAC technician.
• Willingness to continue education in HVAC field.

Working Conditions/ Physical Demands

• Ability to work evenings and weekends.
• Ability to lift and transport up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.
• Ability to climb ladders and work in elevated spaces.
• Ability to work in attics and tight spaces.
• Ability to work in a multitude of weather conditions.

Pay

$32 - $34 per hour.
