Senior HVAC Technician

Duties

• Daily equipment monitoring
• Espouse vendors and ensure they complete work assigned
• Manage refrigerants in compliance with State and EPA requirements
• Maintain accurate refrigerant usage and inventory records
• Monitor and make necessary adjustments on heat exchangers, HVAC systems, Chillers, Cooling towers, VAV systems, electrical, emergency backup systems, and hot water systems
• Maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment
• Install and repair plumbing / piping / tubing; wire single and three phase motors; run conduit; pull wiring to machinery, motors, operating parts, etc.; install and rebuild pumps and motors; install and rebuild air compressors; heat exchangers; replace bearings in all types of motors; replace seals on pumps; install and repair piping, valves, filters, hot water systems and associated controls; assist other mechanics and operators with major repairs and maintenance of building and equipment.
• Install, repair, and maintain electrical controls, switching and motor controls
• Aid mechanics with major repairs and maintenance of building and equipment
• Troubleshoot and PM VFD (variable frequency drives) on HVAC units and pumps
• Perform routine facility repairs, including sheetrock, patching, caulking, painting, lock repair, and piping

Qualifications

• High school diploma or state equivalent
• 2-4 years of HVAC experience, troubleshooting and PM Maintenance in commercial or industrial environments
• Trade license, apprenticeship, or equivalent trade experience vocational certification
• Universal certification (Refrigeration)
• Proficient with computer-based systems and programs, including Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), Microsoft Office and Outlook
• Able to work in a customer service environment interacting with the client
• Team player with good interpersonal skills
• Fluent in English
• Able to communicate well in both oral and written reports
• Skilled in operating hand and power tools
• Subject to 24-hour availability and must be able to work on roof / exterior in all types of weather
• Able to lift, bend, and move in such a way as to perform job tasks in a safe and approved manner lifting to 50 pounds
• Able to work off lifts and scaffolds and understand elevated work standards
• Able to perform work wearing personnel protective equipment
• Trane system and Vaisala experience a plus
• Experience with BAS systems
