About the role
The New York Post is seeking a Senior Manager, People Business Partner based in New York City. This role supports leaders across the newsroom and commercial functions, helping execute strategies for a fast-moving, high-profile media organization.
Responsibilities
- Partner with department leaders and employees to align people strategies with the New York Post’s editorial, commercial, and digital priorities.
- Support organizational design efforts, workforce planning, and change initiatives in collaboration with senior HR leadership.
- Provide guidance on employee engagement, performance management, talent development, and career progression in fast-paced teams.
- Manage and resolve employee relations matters, including investigations, performance concerns, and workplace conflict, with sound judgment and discretion.
- Leverage data and workforce insights to inform decision-making and recommend practical solutions.
- Promote transparent communication and contribute to a culture of accountability, inclusion, and trust.
- Support innovation and process improvements, including adoption of AI tools where appropriate, to enhance team effectiveness.

Qualifications
- 6+ years of progressive HR experience, including 3+ years in an HR Business Partner or equivalent client-facing role.
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, business, psychology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience supporting fast-paced teams, including commercial, sales, or editorial/creative environments.
- A strong foundation in employee relations, investigations, and performance management.
- A working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to balance business partnership with employee advocacy.
- Experience operating within a matrixed or complex organization preferred.
- Strong coaching, influencing, and problem-solving skills.
- A data-informed mindset with experience using metrics to guide action.
- The ability to manage sensitive situations with professionalism and discretion.
- A willingness to work on-site in midtown Manhattan in alignment with a hybrid model.

- Compensation range: $120,000 - $150,000, eligible for bonus.

Pay
- Base Pay Range: $120,000 - $150,000.
