Senior Highway Engineer/Project Manager

About the role

Pennoni Associates is seeking a Senior Highway Transportation Engineer/Project Manager with experience managing multidisciplinary projects for PennDOT District 6-0 and the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission. The role involves supporting highway design projects for PennDOT across Pennsylvania and assisting NJDOT and DelDOT projects as needed.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for project performance including schedule, cost, and management of the scope of work, ensuring timely and budgetary compliance.
• Prepare and execute project-specific quality management plans.
• Prepare and submit progress reports and invoices as the Project Manager.
• Mentor and develop staff.

Requirements

• Experience in developing winning Statement of Interest (SOI) and proposals for PennDOT, Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, and other transportation entities in the Philadelphia Metropolitan Region.
• Licenses required: Professional Engineer - PA.
• Preferred attributes include understanding of PA Department of Environmental Protection (PADEP) regulations and permitting process, active participation in professional associations like ASCE, ASHE, PSPE, TRB, AASHTO, and IBTTA.

Skills

• Strong leadership and project management skills.
• Knowledge of structural/bridge, traffic/ITS, stormwater management, utilities, and related engineering disciplines.
• Ability to prepare and execute project-specific quality management plans.
• Proficiency in preparing and submitting progress reports and invoices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
