Senior Highway Engineer

About the role

The Senior Highway Engineer is responsible for leading roadway and highway design projects for major transportation agencies, including geometric design, grading, drainage, traffic management, and right-of-way coordination.

Responsibilities

• Oversee multidisciplinary design teams
• Manage project scope, schedule, and budget
• Prepare design plans, calculations, and permits
• Ensure quality assurance and control
• Support construction activities through review of submittals and RFI responses
• Participate in business development and client coordination
• Maintain project documentation and performance

Requirements

• Minimum of ten years of highway or roadway design experience
• Professional Engineer license in New Jersey
• Familiarity with NJDOT, New Jersey Turnpike standards, and AASHTO guidelines

Skills

• Proficiency in CADD software (MicroStation, InRoads/OpenRoads)
• Proficiency in Primavera
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Strong technical, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to lead projects and manage multiple priorities
