About the Role

Based in Atlanta, Georgia, you'll play a key role in planning, designing, and delivering some of the region's most complex and high-profile transportation projects. You will apply deep technical expertise to solve challenging engineering problems, guide multidisciplinary design teams, and drive innovation across project phases. You will also serve as a technical resource and mentor for emerging engineers, while collaborating closely with internal teams, external partners, and clients.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and perform advanced roadway and highway geometric design using MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer
  • Develop and oversee roadway plans, traffic control plans, technical reports, and design related calculations
  • Provide senior level coordination with multidisciplinary teams, project managers, and client stakeholders
  • Review and validate construction drawings, specifications, quantities, and cost estimates to ensure accuracy, constructability, and quality
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers and interns, offering technical direction and supporting skill development
  • Apply seasoned engineering judgment to identify design challenges and develop innovative, practical solutions
  • Participate in and often lead project meetings, technical discussions, and design reviews across all project phases
  • Support task leadership or emerging project management responsibilities, helping ensure on time, on budget delivery

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Minimum of 9+ years of progressive professional experience in infrastructure, roadway, and/or highway design
  • Proficiency with MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate and support all phases of complex, multidisciplinary projects
  • Professional Engineer (PE) registration or the ability to obtain Georgia PE licensure
  • Experience with GDOT projects, as well as county and municipal clients
  • Strong understanding of geometric design principles, design standards, and industry best practices

Ideally, You'll Also Have

  • 15+ years of experience supporting or leading multidiscipline engineering design and construction projects
  • Experience developing and reviewing construction drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and time management skills
  • Experience mentoring or supervising junior staff
  • Interest in advancing into task leadership or project management roles
  • Active involvement in professional engineering organizations

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $123,600.00 to $170,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Schedule

This position supports a hybrid working policy, allowing employees to split their work week between Jacobs offices/projects and remote locations.
