About the Opportunity
The Senior Healthcare Analyst role supports Operational Finance by developing and maintaining Power BI dashboards that provide insights into operational and financial performance. This position involves building complex data models and analyzing large datasets to inform strategic decisions and help achieve key performance goals.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain complex, enterprise-grade SQL databases, scripts, and views for advanced corporate reporting and financial analytics
- Write highly efficient, performant SQL queries to extract, clean, and manipulate massive, multi-layered healthcare datasets
- Utilize advanced SQL programming techniques—including window functions, Common Table Expressions (CTEs), temporary tables, index-based query optimization, and complex conditional joins
- Troubleshoot, analyze, and systematically resolve deep-seated data quality anomalies and dashboard performance bottlenecks
- Arcitect and implement fully documentable, maintainable, and audit-ready data processing solutions
- Design, scale, and optimize structural dimensional data models (e.g., Star and Snowflake schemas) tailored for operational analytics
- Translate abstract business requirements and financial questions into highly scalable, technical data infrastructure solutions
- Execute rigorous data validation checks to ensure absolute accuracy, consistency, and alignment across all tracking reporting datasets
- Develop, publish, and maintain robust enterprise-level Power BI dashboards, workspaces, and row-level security reports
- Optimize back-end Power BI data models, compressing file structures, and tuning complex Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) metrics
- Design intuitive, user-friendly, and visually clear user interfaces and dashboard layouts to drive executive adoption
- Leverage Python scripting to build data processing pipelines, manipulate records, and automate repetitive file transfers where appropriate
- Collaborate with cross-functional finance and engineering teams to spearhead broader system automation and workflow process improvements
- Serve as the internal subject matter expert (SME) across data architecture principles, SQL script formatting, and BI reporting standards
- Mentor junior team members, lead peer code reviews, and actively promote modern engineering best practices across the department
- Independently diagnose and solve complex technical data problems with minimal supervisory direction
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to elevate overall corporate data infrastructure, data extraction processes, and predictive analytics capabilities
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Corporate Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, or a heavily quantitative field (or equivalent practical experience)
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive professional experience in data analytics, business intelligence engineering, or corporate data engineering roles
- Advanced, expert-level SQL skills with extensive experience writing and deploying complex query architecture and custom data solutions
- Comprehensive structural understanding of window functions, CTE configurations, temporary table logic, query execution plans, and ETL data transformations
- Deep structural knowledge of relational database architectures, data warehousing concepts, and dimensional modeling methodologies
- Advanced, expert-level development experience inside the Power BI ecosystem, specifically covering robust data modeling, complex DAX formulation, file optimization, and enterprise dashboard development
- Proven self-starter capability to work independently and seamlessly translate executive business needs into stable technical deliverables
- Strong logical problem-solving, data-driven analytical, and professional stakeholder communication skills
- Complete flexibility to operate full-time within standard Pacific Time business hours (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM PT), with the occasional availability for extended project overtime if required
- Preferred: Hands-on engineering experience manipulating and querying exceptionally large, high-volume healthcare datasets (millions of rows)
- Practical experience utilizing Python for automated scripts, API integrations, and ETL data workflows
- Demonstrated background designing scalable reporting architectures and data pipeline frameworks within a cloud infrastructure
- Prior professional experience mentoring, onboarding, or leading other data analysts or technical professionals
- Foundational understanding of corporate data governance policies, master data management, and enterprise-level reporting best practices
Pay Range and Compensation Package
The target annual compensation for this position is highly competitive and will be determined dynamically based on the final candidate's depth of data engineering experience, DAX optimization skills, and geographic location.
