About The Role
Westinghouse is recruiting Senior Health Physics Technicians to work at various Nuclear Power Plants within the United States. Provide Radiation Protection coverage and oversight for power-plant activities. In addition to providing job coverage, certain routine tasks may be assigned based on individual certifications, qualifications, and skills. You will report to the Westinghouse site manager and be located onsite at various locations.
Responsibilities
- Provide Radiation Protection coverage and oversight for power-plant activities.
- Perform radiation and contamination surveys.
- Conduct material and equipment surveys.
- Release of personnel and material.
- Material escort.
- ALARA planning.
- Help with decontamination activities.
- Support Site Emergency Plan.
Requirements
- Senior Health Physics Technician 3.1A or above. (3.1A requires 2,000 hours of commercial nuclear power combined with a systematic approach to training).
- Knowledge of radiation safety principles, regulations, and industry standards.
- Knowledge of radiation detection and measurement equipment, including calibration and quality control.
Pay
The hourly pay range for this position, dependent upon experience and qualifications, is estimated to be $34 to $40 per hour.
