Senior Health & Benefits Consultant

This hybrid role (minimum three days per week in the office) is based in any Northeast location—Boston, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, or Pennsylvania.
About the role
As a Senior Health & Benefits Consultant, you will lead complex client engagements, manage deliverables across medical, pharmacy, dental, vision, life, and disability benefits plans, and develop innovative design and renewal strategies.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee complex client engagements, ensuring scope, quality, timeliness, and budget are met.
- Guide teams in researching, analyzing, and evaluating benefit programs to develop strategic recommendations.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor.
- Provide high-level financial, contractual, and administrative analysis, including reviewing RFPs and preparing executive summary reports.
- Delegate, mentor, and review the work of junior staff, offering guidance to resolve challenges.
- Collaborate with key client stakeholders to identify business growth opportunities and facilitate referrals.
- Develop sophisticated benefits design and renewal strategies, creating tools to address complex client issues.
- Utilize advanced Excel skills to analyze data, build models, and support client decision-making.
- Manage consulting engagements for mid-market to large employers on medical, dental, life, and disability benefit plans.
- Negotiate with benefits carriers and vendors to secure optimal health and welfare plan coverage.

Requirements
- BA/BS degree.
- 4+ years of experience identifying, designing, recommending, and implementing solutions for complex health care benefit plans.
- Recognized expertise and a strong reputation in the health & benefits field.
- Strong financial acumen and proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.

- Well-developed skills in strategic planning, communication, and active listening.
- Proven management experience leading large, complex projects.
- Ability to build and maintain trusted client relationships through thoughtful advisory and problem-solving.
