Senior Hardware Technician, Controls
About the role
As a Senior Hardware Technician, you will be building cutting-edge hardware devices. You will be working hands-on with tools, configuring various hardware components, and calibrating robotic systems to help create the future of manufacturing. You will report to the Operations Manager and collaborate with the deployment engineers daily on process improvement and design feedback. As a hardware technician, you’ll be highly adaptable to the changing business environment and support the many activities within operations!
Responsibilities
- Perform cell calibrations utilizing FARO/Polyworks and RoboDK softwares
- Link between Deployment Engineering and Operations Manufacturing groups
- Provide first line troubleshooting and diagnosis of cells on the floor before and during FAT/deployment
- Investigate PLC Code (Allen Bradley) during operation/bring-up of the cell
- Aid Technical Writing team members by providing images and details for documentation creation around bring-up processes
- Lead build & deployment of Path product
- Assembly of mechanical & electrical systems
- Light duty fabrication of test parts (cut/bend/drill/weld)
- General facility requests and 5s
Requirements
- Technical training/Trade School certification/ Associate degree in Engineering Tech/BS Engineering or related industry experience
- Hands-on experience in assembly and troubleshooting of mechanical & electrical systems
- 5+ years in industrial automation shop experience
- Hands-on experience with FARO equipment (CMMs)
- You have knowledge of PLC (Ladder Logic) code structures
- You have a knack for troubleshooting and analyzing
- You are personable, adaptable and have strong communication skills
- You have a track record of strong documentation skills
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
- Requires the ability to lift 50 pounds
- Able to operate and use shop equipment
- Able to climb ladders and bend over/move into awkward positions
- Commitment to high standards of workmanship, the production of quality products, and continuous quality improvement
- +35% Travel (domestic and international)
