Responsibilities
- Lead a team of hardware and system engineers to perform schematic capture, layout, mechanical and RF design.
- Interface with product management, firmware and mobile teams to refine requirements, and ensure that designs and deliverables meet market needs.
- Transition designs to manufacturing, working with both onshore and offshore manufacturing partners.
- Define quality standards, own documentation and change management processes to ensure reliability and QA testing.
- Cultivate relationships with component and module vendors, stay in touch with industry trends and develop the hardware product roadmap.
- Participate in industry forums and represent the company at standards bodies.
Qualifications
- Strong EE fundamentals with a degree in electrical or computer engineering.
- At least 10 years of industry experience with demonstrated progression from design engineer to lead engineer and then to manager.
- At least 3 years of experience as a people manager.
- Hands-on expertise in schematic capture and PCB layout for wireless products.
- Familiarity with using standard lab equipment such as a DMM, oscilloscope and logic analyzer.
- Familiarity with NPI and manufacturing processes including management of Engineering Change Orders (ECO) and version control.
- Strong sense of ownership and ability to work independently to take projects from start to finish.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to summarize and present to non-technical audiences.
