About the role

We are looking for technology game changers to lead Stellantis into a fundamental transformation within the automotive industry. Technology is going to disrupt the automotive industry significantly in the next decade, and our Hardware Electronics (HWE) group was created to build the most captivating experiences in the latest frontier of Automotive Technology.

Responsibilities

  • Actively steer the development, launch, and production of ZCU/BMS, overseeing all steps of the process and working closely with the ZCU/BMS Project Management team, Hardware Platform Design (HWP) team, SW Development team, Product Validation (DV/PV) team, and Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) suppliers.
  • Contribute to specification and design of ZCU/BMS boards for automotive systems.
  • Work with internal customers to understand and specify application requirements and deliverables, including Product Functional (PF) specifications, Hardware-Software interface specifications (HSIS), and functional safety.
  • Investigate scalable architecture alternatives and development paths for ZCU/BMS Hardware platforms.
  • Establish scalability, cost, size, weight, power, performance, safety, and schedule requirements for next-generation hardware platforms.
  • Support the HW implementation of Cyber Security and Functional Safety requirements of ZCU/BMS.
  • Create Quality Benchmarks and Standards; provide technical perspective and expertise in terms of quality standards for internal technical teams, critical suppliers, and partners.
  • Provide HW technical support for Design/Product Validation (DV/PV), working closely with the STLA Product Validation (DV/PV) team and Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) suppliers.
  • Analyze schematics, datasheets/user manuals, comprehend processor architecture, memory options, and Automotive ICs.
  • Comprehend electrical I/O and automotive networks (CAN-FD, LIN, Ethernet), analyze log files/traces.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or similar.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience working on Electronics Design.
  • Experience with Circuit simulations and Circuit Worst Case Analysis.
  • Experience creating Hardware-Software Interface Specifications (HSIS).
  • Experience with Schematic Capture software and eBOM variant handling.
  • Hands-on and industry-relevant experience in electronic hardware development.
  • Strong knowledge of Analog and digital design and circuit analysis (Power management ICs, HSD, LSD, Smart drivers, MCU, digital logics, etc.).
  • Experience supporting HW component validation (Electrical, EMC, ESD, Environmental).
  • Hands-on hardware testing experience using lab instruments such as oscilloscopes, electronic loads, signal generators, spectrum analyzers.
  • Strong teamwork and excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Electronics Engineering.
  • Experience with HW Development for Automotive products on Tier 1 or Tier 2.
  • Experience designing electronics that operate from -40°C to 105°C ambient temperature.
  • Experience with Altium Design Schematic capture and Variations handling.
  • Knowledge of applicable safety standards including ISO 26262.
  • Experience with D-FMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis).
  • Familiarity with Automotive industry standards for electronics (including automotive EMC/EMI and Environmental Test Standards), design factors of safety, and product verification.
  • Solid understanding of system/component design.
  • Solid understanding of HSD, LSD, H-Bridges, Half-Bridge.
  • Solid understanding of ETH/CAN FD/LIN/LVDS communication protocols and troubleshooting tools.
