About the role

NVIDIA is seeking a Senior GPU Memory Architect to join a team working on innovative products for autonomous vehicles, AI, gaming, and mobile systems. The ideal candidate will develop and optimize GPU memory architectures and micro-architectures, participate in performance simulations, implement and maintain high-level models, analyze benchmarks, and debug performance issues.

Responsibilities

  • Develop architecture and micro-architecture to improve GPU memory system and memory management
  • Optimize along the axes of performance, power efficiency, complexity, area, effort, and schedule
  • Participate in performance simulation to improve memory access efficiency
  • Implement and maintain high-level functional and performance models
  • Analyze benchmarks, application workloads, and performance simulation results to identify microarchitecture optimization areas
  • Create architectural specifications and customer-facing documents
  • Work with partners in the industry to generate specifications that consider software interfaces to the GPU
  • Debug performance and functional issues using high-level models, RTL simulation, and silicon

Requirements

  • Master's degree or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • A PhD with a focus in computer architecture is a plus
  • 6+ years of meaningful work experience in GPU or CPU Architecture and development specifically in the area of memory caching and interconnects
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills required
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, product-oriented, distributed team
  • Experience with hardware memory management unit, prefetching, or memory subsystems
  • Practical experience with multi-core systems and memory coherency
