Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end commercial relationship with strategic electromechanical suppliers, including sourcing strategy, supplier selection, commercial negotiations, cost management, and long-term supplier performance.
- Lead supplier engagement throughout the New Product Introduction (NPI) lifecycle, ensuring successful product launches, manufacturing readiness, capacity planning, and supply continuity.
- Build and manage strategic relationships with global suppliers and manufacturing partners, primarily across Asia, driving performance, continuous improvement, and long-term partnerships.
- Partner cross-functionally with Hardware Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing, Quality, Finance, and Program Management to identify risks, resolve issues, and deliver products on schedule.
- Develop commodity strategies that balance cost, quality, supply, and technology roadmaps while supporting WHOOP product development and business objectives.
- Drive supplier performance through business reviews, KPI management, and data-driven decision making while holding internal and external partners accountable.
- Navigate ambiguity, influence decisions across organizations, and communicate effectively to drive alignment in a fast-paced environment.
- Travel globally up to 25% to support supplier relationships and new product development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related technical field. Electrical or Mechanical Engineering background is a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in Global Supply Management, Strategic Sourcing, or Commodity Management supporting high-volume consumer electronics or consumer hardware products.
- Experience leading suppliers through fast-paced New Product Introduction (NPI) and production ramp.
- Experience managing strategic supplier relationships with overseas suppliers, particularly across Asia, including component suppliers and manufacturing partners.
- Experience sourcing electromechanical components for wearable devices or other consumer electronics is highly desirable.
- Strong commercial, analytical, and negotiation skills with a proven ability to balance cost, quality, delivery, and supply continuity.
- Demonstrated ownership, accountability, and the ability to independently drive complex initiatives from concept through execution.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and external partners in ambiguous, fast-changing environments.
- Experience with ERP and PLM systems such as NetSuite, Arena, or equivalent is preferred.
- Strong commitment to embracing and leveraging AI tools in day-to-day tasks, ensuring AI-assisted work aligns with the same high-quality standards as personal contributions.
Benefits
The U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $150,000 - $195,000. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within each range, individual pay is based on factors such as job-related skills, experience, performance, and relevant education or training.
Pay
While most offers will typically fall toward the starting point of the range, total compensation will depend on the candidate’s specific qualifications, expertise, and alignment with the role’s requirements.
Schedule
This role is based in the WHOOP office located in Boston, MA. The successful candidate must be prepared to relocate if necessary to work out of the Boston, MA office.
