The Senior Global Sourcing Manager, Raw Metals is the domain expert for metals commodities at Anduril. This proactive, high-impact role secures critical components, materials, and services that power our products. The role involves developing new supplier partnerships and improving existing ones to enhance technologies, cost, and quality. You will collaborate broadly across internal teams to evaluate supplier opportunities, ensuring commercial agreements, intellectual property, and statements of work are accurate before pipelining.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute commodity strategies for raw metals (stainless steel, aluminum, titanium, etc.), focusing on cost reduction, technology development, quality improvement, and supply chain resilience.
  • End-to-end responsibility for delivering quality materials and/or parts, when needed, at the right cost.
  • Act as the sourcing expert for raw metals, aggregating usage across all Anduril business units to develop company-wide sourcing strategies.
  • Lead RFI/RFQ/RFP and strategic sourcing processes for raw metals.
  • Own the business relationship with external suppliers, ensuring continuity of supply, risk management, cost negotiations, and execution from NPI to MP operations.
  • Partner with the Engineering team and suppliers to influence technical design specs and customize product and manufacturing requirements.
  • Perform detailed analysis of quote submissions based on cost breakdown data, diving deep into every element of the supply chain to make data-driven decisions based on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to support prototype requirements, execute against build milestones, and lead sourcing activities.
  • Influence supplier manufacturing processes and CapEx/technology decisions.
  • Negotiate key agreements with suppliers to establish best-in-class pricing, quality, flexibility, delivery, payment, warranty, and service terms.
  • Collaborate internally, negotiate tradeoffs, solicit cooperation, resolve problems, and advance new supplier or product offerings.
  • Provide strong technical direction within specific commodities by evaluating and guiding product strategy throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Manage and lead operations efforts to develop new and adapt existing technologies for Anduril.
  • Develop and execute commercial agreements reflecting project expectations, including fixed and variable costs, lead-times, schedules, and manufacturing capacities.
  • Conduct regular commodity reviews with executive staff and management.
  • Own supplier performance management for respective commodities, tracking key delivery, quality, cost, and innovation metrics.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for commodity-related issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of experience in supply chain commodity management of raw metals and/or sourcing engineering.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
  • Ability to relocate to Costa Mesa, CA, if not already local.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or metallurgical/materials engineering.
  • Previous experience in defense, aerospace, automotive, high tech, or related industry.
  • Well-versed in TCO analysis to ensure data-driven analytics tied to component and supplier selection in a product-based ecosystem.
  • Strategic thinker with experience developing commodity strategies/roadmaps alongside key engineering stakeholders.
  • Proven leadership in driving and influencing cross-functional teams toward common goals.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across all levels of an organization.
  • Ability to wear multiple hats, fill gaps, and remove roadblocks as a strong team player.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Top Secret (TS) clearance.

Pay

US Salary Range: $166,000—$220,000 USD.
