About the role
We are looking for a Senior Manager, Public Relations to lead global PR strategy and execution for ShipStation Global. This is a hands-on role for a seasoned communications professional who can think strategically, build and maintain strong media relationships, and drive day-to-day program execution. You will work closely with executive spokespeople, external agencies, and cross-functional teams to tell compelling stories across North America and Europe.
What will you be doing?
- Develop and execute global PR strategies for ShipStation Global across North America and Europe.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with key journalists, media outlets, and influencers to secure coverage and build brand visibility.
- Draft and edit press releases, bylines, media statements, and other external communications that clearly convey key messages.
- Manage relationships with external PR agencies and own the agency budget, ensuring effective allocation, seamless execution, and clear accountability.
- Cook up and schedule media opportunities for executive spokespeople, including interviews, press briefings, and speaking engagements.
- Develop briefing materials and spokesperson prep to support media interactions.
- Support customer and partner storytelling, including coordinating announcements and contributing to case study development.
- Monitor media coverage and industry trends to identify opportunities and flag risks, sharing timely insights with leadership.
- Track, analyze, and report on PR performance metrics, with recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with marketing, product, legal, and executive teams to align PR with broader business goals.
- Proactively identify and pursue speaking engagements, award nominations, and other visibility opportunities.
- Support crisis communications efforts as needed, ensuring timely and effective responses.
What are we looking for?
- 5-7 years of experience in public relations, media relations, or corporate communications.
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field — or equivalent experience.
- Proven track record of developing and executing PR strategies across multiple markets.
- Strong relationships with journalists and influencers in the retail, e-commerce, technology, or logistics space.
- Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
- Experience managing external PR agencies and agency budgets.
- Strong project and time management skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.
What will make you stand out?
- Experience in a B2B SaaS, software, or logistics organization.
- Proficiency in media management tools such as Muck Rack, Roxhill, Cision, or Meltwater.
- Experience running PR campaigns across the US and continental Europe.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret PR performance data and translate it into strategy.
- Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with a track record of making things happen.
