Senior GIS Project Manager
About the role
We are seeking a Senior Project Manager with a focus on Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to lead a utility network transformation project. This role involves managing the entire project lifecycle, from definition through implementation, including migrating the current system to the cloud.
Responsibilities
- Provide project leadership and delivery oversight for a cross-functional team of 25-30 members, including vendor teams.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Manage budgets ranging from $700K to $5.5M, including tracking and reconciling monthly spending, accruals, and forecasts.
- Partner with key stakeholders to ensure alignment on scope and business requirements.
- Utilize AI technology, including satellite images and data in 3D format, to predict high-risk areas.
- Oversee the vendor selection process, including reviewing RFPs, scoring proposals, and conducting vendor demos.
- Ensure seamless integration with the existing GIS system for a SaaS solution.
- Identify potential project risks and develop contingency plans.
- Maintain clear communication with all project stakeholders.
Requirements
A bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental science, project management, or a related field is required. Proven experience in project management, specifically with GIS projects and within the energy sector, including electricity distribution, is also required. Experience supporting utility network transformation is necessary.
Qualifications
Technical skills required include proficiency in project management software such as MS Project, Visio, Excel, and Word. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills are necessary. A master's degree or additional certifications, such as Project Management Professional (PMP), are preferred. Experience with EZRI is strongly preferred.
