Senior GIS Business Systems Analyst

About the role

Tacoma Power is seeking a Senior Business Systems Analyst with advanced GIS expertise to support the Engineering Projects and Services (EPS) group within the Transmission & Distribution (T&D) section. The role requires strong proficiency in GIS mapping, a solid understanding of electrical power systems and utility operations, and familiarity with the Esri Utility Network and related business systems.

Responsibilities

• Review, evaluate, and manage Tacoma Power’s T&D GIS data residing in the Esri Utility Network environment.
• Serve as a subject matter expert and liaison between EPS and the T&D Product Owner, T&D Supervisors, and the Utility Technology Services (UTS) team on GIS‑related items, including testing, troubleshooting, drafting standards, enhancements, and best work processes.
• Develop, update, and maintain documentation for staff procedures and workflow processes.
• Serve as a technical lead and GIS subject matter expert; ensure a digital twin of the transmission and distribution network through quality‑assurance measures.
• Provide end‑user training on related systems and process updates as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in public or business administration, information technology, or a directly related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of progressively responsible analytical and/or functional analyst, user support, or database maintenance experience in a related area.
• Relevant education and experience may substitute for one another on a year‑for‑year basis.

Pay

Annual Salary: $105,643.20 – $148,740.80
