Senior Geotechnical/ Geoenvironmental Engineer
About the role
A Senior Geotechnical or Geoenvironmental Engineer is required to join the geotechnical engineering division, operating from the company’s Norwich office, to work on a range of site investigation projects across East Anglia, the south of England and further afield. You will be working as part of a well-established department of engineers, on a range of ground investigation projects.
Responsibilities
- Provide specialist information on ground conditions for projects in a range of sectors (commercial and residential developments, healthcare, education, energy, infrastructure, highways, defence, flood alleviation, and community projects).
- Work as part of a well-established department of engineers, on a range of ground investigation projects.
- Collaborate with colleagues, supervise and help to train less experienced engineers to provide advice and well-written reports on technical aspects of geotechnical engineering.
- Knowledge and experience in soil mechanics, confidence in providing foundation recommendations, soil/groundwater/ground gas risk assessments, supervising/undertaking trial pits, boreholes and other field techniques.
- Experience as a line manager.
Requirements
- Minimum of a degree in a relevant subject, with a master’s degree preferred.
- Senior engineer candidates should be a chartered geologist/scientist or working towards chartership, be knowledgeable about soil mechanics, and be well-practiced with routine geotechnical and geoenvironmental assessments.
- Full UK driving license.
- At least seven years’ demonstrable experience in geotechnical and geoenvironmental site investigation.
