Braun Intertec is seeking a highly motivated Senior Engineer to join our Duluth, MN office. As a part of our firm, you will have the opportunity to own your work and contribute to the success of our employee-owners and clients.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare proposals for moderate to complex projects.
  • Develop and execute whole scopes.
  • Review engineering work of others.
  • Perform engineering analysis using company and industry methodologies.
  • Make geotechnical recommendations and prepare engineering reports for senior review.
  • Understand and manage the need of clients through communications and proposal/project work.
  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Perform the routine aspects of civil engineering assignments, including but not limited to, familiarity with the programs, staff, and operating procedures of the company.
  • Coordinate project assignments with other engineers and technicians within the discipline group.
  • Cover drawings supplied by vendors, clients, and engineers and recommend necessary changes.
  • Identify complex problems/possible solutions and take the appropriate action to resolve.
  • Manage project teams including, engineering and field support personnel.
  • Oversee and train or teach Braun Intertec technical practices.
  • Compile engineering calculations using standard formulas and computer software.
  • Prepare field reports documenting contractors work methods, test results, and the interpretation of these tests.
  • Work within established procedures and/or protocols.
  • Aware of risks associated with recommendations.
  • Develop and progress multiple positive client relationships.
  • Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Show solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.
  • Work independently and as a team member.
  • Be action oriented, effectively/efficiently manage time and able to learn on the fly.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • BS in civil or geotechnical engineering (MS in geotechnical engineering or structural engineering preferred) with 9+ years’ experience.
  • PE Certification.
  • Requires creative and innovative thinking in bringing successful resolution to high-impact, complex, and/or cross-department problems.
  • Ability to qualify professional opinions and recommendations of less experienced engineers; applying engineering principles and practices.
  • Ability to delegate and develop direct reports.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to comprehend and apply principles of advanced calculus, modern algebra, and advanced statistical theory.
  • Ability to work with concepts such as limits, rings, quadratic and differential equations, and proofs of theorems.
  • Developed understanding of Braun Intertec services and has the ability to market to clients.
  • Understand and work in compliance with corporate practices, health and safety policies.

Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license and pass MVR as required.
  • PE Certification.

Pay

$108,000.00 - $162,000.00
