Responsibilities
- Perform geotechnical design and analysis for foundations, earthworks, slope stability, seepage, lateral pressures, and construction observation.
- Conduct geotechnical earthquake engineering analyses including hazard, site response, seismic deformation, soil-structure interaction, liquefaction, and lateral spreading.
- Plan and execute subsurface investigations, laboratory testing, and geotechnical instrumentation installation, monitoring, and interpretation.
- Design geotechnical elements with senior team members for public and private infrastructure and building projects.
- Manage projects, resources, and staff; prepare reports and submittals; and assist with proposal development.
- Develop client relationships and participate in local professional communities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering; Master’s Degree in Geotechnical Engineering preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in geotechnical engineering practice with an emphasis on geotechnical design and analysis, geotechnical field investigation, and construction supervision.
- Licensed Professional Engineer in the state of California.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for team-based work.
- Extensive geotechnical background with fundamentals in soil and rock mechanics, earthquake engineering, pavement engineering, and groundwater hydrogeology.
- Experience with geotechnical software for slope stability (Slide, Slope/W), pile modeling (L-pile, Shaft, All Pile), and site response (Shake, DeepSoil).
- Familiarity with standards and deliverables (DSA/CGS, Caltrans) preferred.
- Experience in construction oversight for foundations and earthwork observation.

Pay
$135,000 - $145,000 annual salary. Final compensation is based on individual qualifications and experience.
