Senior Geotechnical Associate

Responsibilities

  • Lead damage assessment and cause and origin investigations.
  • Prepare field notes, feasibility studies, cost analyses, and specifications.
  • Communicate with clients to understand project requirements.
  • Complete technical and investigative reports to support forensic findings and prepare materials related to presentations.
  • Manage and mentor other design team members.
  • Perform peer reviews and condition assessments, including order of magnitude cost estimating.

Requirements

  • Degree (Master’s preferred) in geotechnical engineering.
  • 10+ years of experience preferred.
  • California Professional Engineer license required. GE license preferred.
  • Ability and willingness to travel within the US and internationally.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, experience with Revit a plus.

Pay

The rate for this position generally is $130,000 - $170,000 annually. This range is a good faith estimate provided pursuant to the California Pay Transparency Law. It is based on what a successful California applicant might be paid and assumes that the successful candidate will be in California or perform the position from California. Similar positions located outside of California will not necessarily receive the same compensation. Actual pay rates may vary from the range, as permitted by California Equal Pay Transparency Law. Compensation offers will be based on various factors, including operational needs, individual education, qualifications and experience, work location and comparison to employee already in the role, as well as other considerations permitted by law. A potential new employee’s pay history will not be used in compensation decisions.

Qualifications

Qualifications include:

  • Experience in forensic investigation, litigation support, risk loss consulting, repair, and retrofit design.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage and mentor junior staff.
  • Experience with condition assessments and cost estimating.
