Senior Geologist

This role is based in Chino, an open-pit copper mining complex in southwestern New Mexico, with a focus on geological exploration and resource modeling.

Responsibilities

• Complete logging of drill samples and conduct geologic mapping
• Develop and maintain resource block models
• Supervise and direct drilling, road construction, and drill sample preparation by contractors
• Interpret geological, assay, and mineralogical data into geologic maps and cross sections
• Coach and mentor Geologist I and II to enhance their skills
• Provide guidance and counsel to the site management team on regulatory compliance
• Maintain and update drill hole databases, maps, and other exploration records
• Collaborate with Metallurgists in sample preparation and ore type development
• Perform surface and underground geologic mapping
• Contribute to the formulation of short-range geological exploration and evaluation plans

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Geology or related scientific discipline with 5+ years of experience, or
• Master's degree in Geology with 3+ years of experience

• Current knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local regulations
• Proficiency in computerized resource block modeling
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Benefits
