About the role
The Senior GEOINT History Program Specialist at MANTECH will manage and execute the historical program, focusing on content development, historical research center management, museum management, and archiving and curation.
Responsibilities
- Research, develop, and execute high volume historical content for both internal and external audiences through articles, brochures, social media posts, podcast production, website content, museum exhibits, and museum tour guides.
- Manage the Historical Research Center by focusing on artifact section, storage, and curation requirements, assisting the client Historian in refining internal charge out and external loan procedures for artifacts, and ensuring archival management, artifact curation, and preservation.
- Oversee the client's museum management by working with other museums on loans, exhibits, artifact solicitation, and advising on acquisition decisions. Develop and produce historical displays, posters, exhibits, museum experiences, conduct guided museum tours, and communicate about history program.
- Collaborate internally by providing copy editing and quality assurance for all history program products, supporting inventorying and accountability procedures for historical artifacts, and assisting in history program audits.
Requirements
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in history, geography, library science, museum studies, or museum science roles, or a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in History, Geography, Library Science, Museum Studies, Museum Science, or a related field.
- In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, 8+ years of direct museum practice, artifact preservation, curation, or history-related positions are required.
- A high degree of accuracy and thoroughness when completing tasks like inventorying and entering records metadata, or recording the origins and significance of archival materials.
- Experience managing smaller projects from start to finish, including coordinating with multiple stakeholders to meet deadlines.
Qualifications
- Minimum qualifications include an active/current TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a polygraph.
- Physical requirements include being able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time, occasionally moving about inside the office, frequently communicating with co-workers, management, and customers, and exchanging accurate information in these situations.
