Senior Genomics Sales Director (Northern California)
About the role
The Senior Genomics Sales Director is responsible for the overall health and performance of the assigned region. They develop and implement sales strategies based on opportunity analysis and review results from business analytics. They must meet their region’s sales goals, create and maintain a Regional Business Plan, analyze data, manage their region’s data in the Salesforce CRM, complete assigned sales and company training, and maintain and grow their region.

- Maintain an elevated level of technical and market expertise and educate the market on proper utilization and acceptance of Fulgent's products and services.
- Demonstrate a strong working knowledge of the capabilities of Fulgent's technologies.
- Strong scientific and technical aptitude to deliver technical presentations, scientific discussions, seminars/webinars, and product demonstrations.
- Strong Salesforce CRM knowledge and daily commitment.
- Acquire market intelligence and feedback and provide the information to your direct manager.
- Develop and foster strong working relationships with customers, prospects, and business partners.
- Actively gather content for the marketing team for applications notes, web content, and new applications.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree; preference given to candidates with a degree in the life sciences.
- Minimum of three (3) years of successful clinical genomics diagnostics sales experience required.
- A verifiable record of sales accomplishments spanning at least five (5) years that shows competency in meeting sales goals, negotiations, and selling to customer needs.
- Experience calling on Children’s Hospitals and academic institutions in the rare diseases market strongly preferred.
- Experience in dealing with a range of senior stakeholders.
- Self-directed with strong work ethics and initiative.
- Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrably good at working within multicultural, geographically dispersed teams.
- Strong ownership skills.
- Strong Salesforce CRM competence.
- Ability to interpret and explain policies, procedures, rules and/or regulations to clinicians and the public.
- Ability to use tact and diplomacy to establish and maintain cooperative relationships when dealing with the needs, problems, and/or concerns of clinicians, the public, and/or outside agencies.
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.

Compensation
The compensation package includes a commission plan in addition to the advertised base salary. The compensation offered is for the first year, and depends on several factors including but not limited to technical knowledge in the genomics and rare diseases market, sales acumen, total years of experience, and location. On target earnings (OTE) are an estimate based on reaching 100% of quota. OTE is not guaranteed, but can be considered a guideline based on average performance. Total OTE for this role is between $170,000 - $200,000 in the first year of employment. Car mileage is expensed at current GSA rates.
