Senior Generalist, Human Resources (Surgical Pod)

Responsibilities

  • Aid in the recruitment of staff by posting positions on various platforms and managing the I-9 process.
  • Coordinate all pre-boarding activities for various employee populations, including scheduling welcome programs, medical surveillance, and UNI creation.
  • Initiate and process template-based hires in PeopleSoft and/or nominations, ensuring accurate information collection and processing.
  • Process short-term visitors and students through JIRA.
  • Oversee the preparation and processing of payroll using TLAM and manage time-off tracking.
  • Handle employment related changes in Talent Link and PeopleSoft, such as updating position numbers, leaves of absence, and terminations.
  • Liaise with internal and external constituents to resolve issues and ensure timely processing of new-hire/appointment, reappointment, termination, and other related transactions.
  • Manage immigration-related needs, including sponsorship for visas and preparing documentation for accompanying family members.
  • Track and ensure compliance concerning I-9 processing, Annual Hospital Training, Influenza Program, COVID-19 Safety & Monitoring program, HIPPA Training, Conflict of Interest, Medical Surveillance, Upcoming/Past Visa End Date Status, etc.
  • Work with the Medical Staff Office to manage the credentialing process and reappointment process.
  • Use ServiceNow HR Ticketing System to manage all requests and communicate with HR/FA team.
  • Manage special projects as designated by the Associate Vice Dean for Human Resources/CAO.
  • Conduct exit interviews and discuss data from exit interviews with Manager/Director(s) to make recommendations for corrective action and continuous improvement.
  • Proactively respond to employee relations issues and escalate all employee concerns, issues, or complaints to Manager/Director(s).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Resourceful, organized, and detail-oriented with the ability to establish priorities and follow up on multiple issues in a time-sensitive manner.
  • Sound independent judgment, ability to work under pressure, and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Professionalism, diplomacy, discretion, firmness, and collaboration in dealing with individuals at all levels.
  • Excellent computer skills, including thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office, databases, and advanced spreadsheet skills.
  • Knowledge of University policies, procedures, and systems.
