Position Summary

Adaptive Sports at Mount Snow is seeking an experienced, mission-driven Part-Time Senior Fundraiser / Development Director to lead our fundraising, donor engagement, and event development efforts. This role is responsible for planning and executing fundraising strategies, managing donor relationships and data, overseeing marketing collaboration, and leading our three primary annual fundraising events.

Time Commitment

  • Average 2 to 5 hours per week, increasing to 25 to 40 hours for the weeks surrounding the three peak months: January (Winterfest), September (Golf In The Mountains), and November (Warren Miller Movie Night).
  • Flexible scheduling, with occasional evenings and weekends around events.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fundraising Strategy & Revenue Development:
    • Build and manage an annual fundraising campaign tied to revenue goals.
    • Set clear targets for events, appeals, sponsorship and individual giving.
    • Track fundraising performance and adjust strategies to meet revenue goals.
    • Use data to inform strategy, not just report on it (“data-informed” planning).
    • Lead annual giving, campaigns, sponsorships, and special appeals.
    • Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward individual donors and sponsors.
    • Identify gaps and opportunities across the year, not just around events.
  • Donor Management & Stewardship:
    • Build and manage a donor pipeline of new, returning and major donors.
    • Conduct donor outreach, meetings, and follow-ups.
    • Manage donor data, segmentation, reporting, and analytics within the donor management system (DonorPerfect).
    • Ensure timely acknowledgments, stewardship communications, and donor engagement.
    • Create and execute stewardship plans so that donors feel seen and valued.
    • Build and maintain long-term relationships with major donors and key supporters.
  • Sponsorship & Corporate Partnerships:
    • Prospect and secure event sponsors and program partners.
    • Build sponsor packages and help articulate value beyond just logo placement.
    • Maintain relationships with local businesses and community partners.
  • Event Planning & Execution:
    • Plan and oversee all fundraising aspects of:
      • Winterfest (January)
      • Golf In The Mountains (September)
      • Warren Miller Movie Night (November)
    • Develop a fundraising strategy for each event and each aspect of the event (live auctions; silent auctions; sponsorships; appeals; etc.).
    • Manage donor data, ticket sales/attendance, silent and live auctions, raffle tickets, reporting, and analytics within the donor management systems (we use DonorPerfect and ReadySetAuction).
    • Cook up and coordinate logistics, vendors, sponsors, volunteers, and internal teams.
    • Conduct post-event follow-up, reporting, and evaluation.
  • Marketing & Communications Collaboration:
    • Work closely with sports programming and communications staff to support fundraising campaigns.
    • Contribute to donor communications including email campaigns, print materials, social media, and website updates.
    • Ensure consistent messaging and branding across all fundraising initiatives.
  • Leadership & Collaboration:
    • Partner with the Board of Directors to advance fundraising goals.
    • Support board members in donor cultivation and solicitation.
    • Provide guidance to volunteers and development support staff as applicable.

Qualifications

  • Required:
    • Minimum 10 years of nonprofit fundraising experience.
    • Proven success in event-based fundraising and donor stewardship.
    • Revenue-focused: understands it is not just “events”, it is fundraising outcomes.
    • Natural relationship builder: “connector” mindset.
    • Story-teller: can translate impact into giving moments.
    • Strategic thinker/planner AND can execute.
    • Strong experience with donor management systems; DonorPerfect and event planning software preferred, but not essential.
    • Excellent communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
    • Organized and detail-oriented, especially around multiple events.
    • Ability to manage priorities independently in a part-time role.
  • PREFERRED:
    • Experience working with nonprofit boards and committees.
    • Background in nonprofit marketing or communications.
    • Comfort analyzing data and reporting on fundraising outcomes.
    • Passion for and alignment with the mission of Adaptive Sports at Mount Snow.
