About the Role

The Investment Accountant will be responsible for cash management, bank accounts, loans and lender reporting, investor reporting, capital transaction management, financial reporting, audit support, investment acquisitions, investment dispositions, and other general functions. This position will also require mastery of all duties of a Staff Investment Accountant.

Responsibilities

  • Cash Management: Assist with the day-to-day cash transactions of assigned funds/ventures, including:
    • Daily oversight of bank accounts and maintaining relationships with banks
    • Understanding online banking platforms and entering transactions into Yardi
    • Managing intercompany bill-backs and accounts payable processes
    • Setting up and inputting wire/ACH transactions
    • Completing monthly bank reconciliations
  • Capital Transactions: Assist with the allocation and documentation process for capital transactions between funds/ventures and investors, including:
    • Preparing contribution and distribution calculations and packets
    • Overseeing the signature process
    • Working with Investor Relations to upload notices to the Intralinks site
  • Financial Reporting: Report financials in accordance with IFRS and/or US GAAP, including:
    • Compiling monthly, quarterly, and annual financials
    • Preparing monthly reporting work-papers and reconciling accounts
    • Referencing and tying out consolidated financials
    • Preparing support for tables and charts in management discussion and analysis
    • Uploading statements to Intralinks and delivering quarterly information to internal stakeholders
    • Assisting with ad hoc investor reporting, lender reporting, compliance certificates, and other third-party reporting
  • Audit: Assist with annual audit management for each fund/venture, including:
    • Overseeing the day-to-day audit process from start to finish
    • Preparing the PBC request list and uploading audit documents
    • Rolling forward prior year-end financials
    • Assisting in preparing tables, charts, and audited financial statements
  • Yardi: Use Yardi software to:
    • House all General Ledgers by entity
    • Enter journal entries and run reports for analytics and reporting
    • Use the Investment Management module for cash, contributions, distributions, and other internal transactions
  • General:
    • Understand the underlying agreements of each venture
    • Familiarize yourself with specific sections relevant to the overall structure, including partnership expenses, fees, and commitments

Requirements

  • CPA preferred
  • Master’s degree or higher in Accounting
  • 0 to 2 years of directly related experience
  • Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet software, property management (Yardi), and database management programs
  • Ability to complete financial records and fiscal reporting

Pay

Many factors go into determining employee pay within the posted range, including business requirements, prior experience, current skills, and geographical location.

Additional Compensation

  • Corporate Positions: Eligible to participate in a quarterly or annual bonus program based on individual and company performance
  • Onsite Property Positions: Eligible to participate in weekly, monthly, and/or quarterly bonus programs
